Condition
An old glue relining is firm and stable. overall the paint surface has been very well retained with very good detail in the figure. the background foliage has lost some of its definition, but the waterfall landscape at right side still reads well. examination under UV light reveals just a few tiny retouches to chin and neck, and a small area on left side of hair. there could be some other, older retouches in the background but it is difficult to read through the varnish. this painting is presentable as is and can be hung in its present state.
Offered in an elaborately carved and gilt wood frame with some minor nicks.
