Condition

OVERSIZE Oil on canvas, unlined. The canvas is somewhat slack on the stretcher. There is a dirty and yellowed varnish, unevenly applied to the entire surface. The ground is visible throughout the work, part of the artist's style. The work retains nice, thick impasto. Under UV light, the picture surface has minor scattered areas of florescence visible, though these may be related to the drippy, unevenly applied varnish, or the artist's working method in which the majority of the ground in the sky is still visible. Some darker details of the tree branches in the upper half of the work fluoresce. In generally very good condition.
