Condition

The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. The canvas has relaxed on its stretcher and developed waves and cracks. The face of the girl on the right may have received a few retouches. It is fairly thinly painted in areas and this particular face may have discolored over time. If the work is lightly cleaned and varnished, the canvas tightened on the stretcher and a few accurate retouches are applied to one or two of the faces, the painting would benefit. This work would cost $900-1,100.
