Oil on canvas, not lined. The picture surface is covered by a widely spaced web of craquelure, evident mainly in the sky. Some minor areas of pigment separation. The surface is relatively fresh and clean. Under UV light, there are areas of retouching in the trees near the horizon at left; in and behind the standing figure at left's face; and a few small additional dots and dashes scattered across the picture.
