Catalogue Note

Henry Dasson (1825–1896) was one of the finest Parisian bronzier-ébénistes of the nineteenth century. The works he created are remarkable especially for the quality of the gilt-bronze mounts, seen on this lot in the turned tapering sabots and the trellised galleries. Dasson was an exhibitor at the Expositions Universelles in 1878 and 1889. The present guéridon demonstrates the high quality and elegance usually associated with Dasson’s work.
