Description

  • sapphire, diamond, white gold
Centring on a row of eleven graduated cabochon sapphires together weighing 50.40 carats, bordered by oval, cushion-shaped and circular-cut sapphires, embellished by rose- and brilliant-cut diamonds, the sapphires and diamonds together weighing approximately 32.00 and 7.60 carats respectively, mounted in 18 karat white gold, length approximately 180mm.

Condition

Colour and Clarity: According to GRS report, the cabochon sapphires are natural, of Burmese origin, with no indications of thermal treatment, of GRS type "royal blue" colour. Please refer to the report for details. In our opinion, the cabochon sapphires are of saturated blue colour, other faceted sapphires are of medium intense to intense blue colour, eye clean. Upon 10x loupe, there are feathers, silks inclusions with surface reaching fissures or pits on some sapphires, but generally not noticeable to naked eyes in normal lighting. Diamonds are about H to J colours, VS2 to SI3 clarity. Condition: Karat white gold mount, articulated links fit very well on wrist, in very good condition.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. Illustrations in the catalogue may not be actual size. Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.

Catalogue Note
