Condition

Original canvas. There are some areas of reticulation in the brown pigments and some paint cracking and loss at the extreme edges of the canvas, extended onto the canvas overlap. There is a small possible surface abrasion in the black pigment at the upper centre of the composition. There is a very faint push from the stretcher bar at the upper horizontal edge. Subject to the above the work appears to be in good condition. Ultraviolet light reveals an area of florescence in the white pigment at the upper left corner of the composition running down the left hand edge, measuring approximately 24cm. The canvas is float mounted in a painted box frame. Please contact the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
