Description
- Richard Lin
- Painting 1963-65
- oil on canvas with collage
- 56 by 56cm.; 22 by 22in.
Provenance
Marlborough Fine Art, London
Condition
Not examined out of the frame. The original canvas is evenly mounted on the stretcher and the collaged elements are securely attached. There appears to be some very minor areas of paint cracking in the bright white pigment of the collaged elements. This includes five small cracks in the upper right quadrant and three further cracks in the upper left quadrant. Subject to the above the work appears to be in very good condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals two tiny lines of florescence at the centre right and centre left and some further minor areas of florescence at the extreme right vertical edge and upper horizontal edge of the canvas.
The work is presented in a welded aluminium frame box frame. The Perspex glazing is scratched.
