Condition
There is very slight undulation to the board.
There are pin holes visible in the bottom right and left and upper right corners with signs of slight compression of the board in these areas, only partially visible in the present frame. Elsewhere there is very slight flattening to some of the thicker areas of raised impasto, and a tiny speck of loss to the centre of the right hand edge, but this excepting the work appears in very good overall condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals minor traces of fluorescence and probable retouchings to the sail in the upper left hand quadrant.
Housed in a thick gilt and painted wooden frame.
