Condition
This painting has been restored. The works is varnished. The canvas is lined. Retouches are faintly visible under ultraviolet light throughout the work addressing paint losses, but there is no visible abrasion. There are numerous retouches in the black clothing of the figure, as there are to a slightly lesser degree throughout the remainder of the picture. As is so very often the case, these retouches may be slightly exaggerated and some of them may be slightly unnecessary, but the work looks respectable as is.
