Condition

This work is still on its original stretcher. It may have never been cleaned, but it seems to have been varnished. This varnish has become quite dull. Under ultraviolet light, there is a restoration visible in the sky in the upper left that measures about 1 inch by 1 ½ inches, and a few other restorations in the beach to the right of the neck of the figure between the figure and the buildings. The work is clearly un-abraded and in lovely condition. The retouches should be removed, as they do not seem to address any actual paint loss, and they may well be unnecessary.
