Condition

The paint layer is very delicate. The panel is flat and the paint layer is stable. Under ultraviolet light, one can see a few tiny spots of retouching around the perimeters of the breadsticks and glass in which they are placed. One can also see tiny spots of retouching along the tops of both loaves of bread. There are some loose retouches across the top edge addressing some minor frame abrasion, and there is a retouch on the edge of the window frame in the center of the left side. Although these retouches are not well applied and should be replaced, the condition of the work is good. (This condition report has been provided courtesy of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.)
