Catalogue Note
Corrugated cardboard, an industrial and readily accessible material, is at the core of Salazar's artistic production. First used in the 1960s, corrugated cardboard has continued to be the central element of his work for over four decades. Whether individually explored in a variety of combinations and alterations or grouped in a series, Salazar pursues the sequential repetition of a visual event. As shapes appear to displace in space, they materialize through adjacent forms that integrate them to the picture plane once again.
