  • bronze
the well modelled elephant standing foursquare with beaded garlands and an ornamental headdress draped over the body, caparisonned in tasselled mantles all below a raised support, possibly the base for a candlestand

Acquired at Portobello Road Antiques Market, London, 1987.

Condition

Solidly cast and generally in good condition, with traces of original gilt-lacquer.
