Description

  • bronze
of oval form supported on four ruyi-shaped feet, modelled with two gnarling chilong clambering on the rim forming the handles, the base with an apocryphal six-character Xuande mark within a recessed panel, the bronze richly patinated to a variegated copper to dark brown colour

Condition

A section of the tail of one of the two chilong-handles in openwork is chipped and missing, as well as an approx 2cm. section of the stem of the lingzhi that it grabs in its mouth (old chips). There is some expected surface wear and occasional pitting predominantly to the interior.
