Description

  • bronze
of lobed form and quatrefoil section, rising from a flared base to an everted rim, finely cast with a chilong clambering around the center, coiling around the vase, the bronze patinated and partly oxidised to a variegated brown colour

Condition

The surface is partly oxidized producing an attractive patina of variegated dark brown and coppery brown colour. There is an old chip to the foot rim and the base is filled in with metal to provide some weight to the vase, probably original to the cast.There is some expected wear and minute dents to the rim and on the reliefs.
