the scholar seated on rockwork with a stack of books beside him, an open book in one hand, the other hidden in lengthy robes cascading to folds in his lap, his long hair partially secured in a bun and his beard swept to one side, his face set in a serene expression, the patina of a deep caramel colour

Acquired at Portobello Road Antiques Market, London, 1995.

Condition

Cast hollow. There are light scratches and occasional small dents and pitting to the surface, all consistent with age. Generally in good condition.
