Description

  • bronze
of cylindrical section with a flat base rising to a flaring mouth, the sides flanked by a pair of angular handles with corners covered in ruyi motifs, all supported on three feet modelled as elephant heads, the base centred with an apocryphal six-character Xuande mark, the patina of an attractive speckled reddish brown colour

Condition

There is a patch of wear with associated discolouration to the patina on one side near the handle (approx 3 by 2 cm), some further wear or nicks to the surface in areas and to the edges of the rim, but overall the incense burner is in good condition.
