realistically modelled as a deer resting on its hindquarters with forelegs partially folded, detailed with expressive branched antlers, wide eyes and alert ears, head raised and turned to one side, with traces of gilt accentuating the gently sloping back, with an opening through the mouth and pierced behind the neck with a circular aperture, the patina of a dark chestnut colour

Condition

There are some scratches and pitting to the surface, and a light depression on the animal's right shoulder. Malachite and cuprite inclusions on the animal's back lending green and red tones to the patina, with traces of gilt remaining.
