Description

the deep rounded sides of the body rising from a short straight foot, decorated with alternating lappet-shaped panels enclosing brightly enamelled flowers and underglaze-blue and gilt prunus on a cracked-ice ground, set to the side with a pair of simple foliate handles, the domed cover similarly decorated and surmounted by a lotus bud finial

Condition

The tureen has old repair to a break at one handle and associated over painting extending up towards the rim, a frit to the glaze on the other handle, and a 3.2 x 1.2cm., rim chip to the cover, and light glaze scratches.
