A Chinese polychrome-decorated 'goose' tureen and cover Qing dynasty, 19th century

modelled recumbent with its head bent backwards towards its wings, the feathers pencilled in black and filled with green, turquoise, blue and iron-red enamels, the interior of the tureen and cover painted with scattered floral sprays reserved on a crackle-glazed ground

Both parts have been broken and restored, with large areas of overspray and overpaint. There are shallow chips along the rims of both and general surface and enamel wear.
