each modelled in the form of a recumbent goose with legs tucked underneath its body and head looking forward, the body pencilled with iron-red feathers, the wings brightly enamelled with green, pink, blue, turquoise, and yellow plumage

Provenance

Collection of S. Bulgari, Rome (according to label).

Condition

One with the upper body (cover) broken and restored, the lower body (tureen) with a star crack. The other with the lower body (turee) restored and covered in overspray. There are other smaller areas of overpainting and enamel wear. Minor glaze firing imperfections and surface scratches.
