each beast modelled recumbent supporting a vase on its back, one with its front paw above a brocade ball and the other with a young cub wrestling beside, all raised on a rectangular plinth, covered overall in a bright glaze splashed with green, aubergine and yellow; together with a similarly decorated lion taper holder
Condition
The head of one lion has been restored and the taper holder on its back has broken off and is loosely re-stuck. The left eye of the other lion has been restored, as has the back of his head, as has the taper holder and there is also damage to the petals to the top. The third taper holder has damage to the rim section of the vase (3cm by 1.8cm).
