Condition

In overall good conserved condition. Evidence of previous fixings in the tops of both. Minor chips to gilding and carving and wear as visible from the catalogue photograph. Some retouching to the decoration. The quiver of arrows on one is slightly loose. There is a construction crack in the basket of both as visible from the catalogue photograph which can be left and some scattered age cracks which are normal. One of the tops on the same blackamoor has three deep pits and both have some minor chips and the top on the other blackamoor has a restored break but this is hardly noticeable. The second blackamoor has an old break to the arm and the other arm where it joins its tunic which would benefit from some further attention. There is a crack running along the base which can easily be filled.
