Catalogue Note

Accompanied by a presentation box, guarantee, instructional sheet and two tags.

The Rolex ref. 6238, referred to as a ‘Pre-Daytona,’ marked Rolex’s last Oyster cased chronograph with the tachometer to the dial, rather than on the bezel. The present lot is offered from the family of the original owner, and it is offered in exceptional, seemingly unused, condition. The case retains original crisp lines and has light patina on the case overall with the only loss of gold to the ends of the chronograph pushers. Between the lugs are very finely preserved numbers and 14k designation, and the underside of the lugs retains hallmarks as if they were just punched. Further to the exceptional condition, the watch is accompanied by the original papers, box and tags.
