The presently offered lot, known as the 'Jumbo' model, is the largest of the vintage Nautilus series. Ref. 3700 was launched in 1976 and was designed by Gerald Genta. Production continued until 1998. Most frequently recognized as a stainless steel watch, it is a rare find indeed to discover this model in yellow gold. The use of a precious metal adds a touch of luxury to the rugged and sporty model.
Ref. 3700 is illustrated in Huber, M. & Banbery, A., Patek Philippe Wristwatches, Second Edition, pp. 231-232.
