Sales Room Notice:The present lot is accompanied by an Extract from the Archives confirming the date of manufacture in 1944 and sale in March 7, 1945. Movement running at time of cataloging, however not tested for the accuracy of time and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Seconds hand occasionally jumps and movement would benefit from a cleaning. Case in very good condition with light surface scratches and scuffing, all consistent with use. Slight pitting to the underside of the lugs. Dial in excellent condition with light washing, light spot at two o'clock. The present lot contains endangered species which is subject to restrictions upon international export. Accordingly, the strap for this item will be removed prior to shipment outside the United States.

The present lot features indirect center seconds, a complication developed and assembled by the famous Geneva watch maker, Victorin Piguet. The firm conceived of the addition of a separate bridge so that the seconds hand was indirectly driven.
