Condition

Sales Room Notice: The present lot is accompanied by an Extract from the Archives confirming date of sale on June 29, 1951. Movement running at time of cataloging, however not tested for the accuracy of time and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Case in good condition, small nicks to the case band and light scratches to the case back, minor wear to the bottom right lug, hallmark to the case band rubbed from polish. Hallmark to the case back very lightly rubbed. Dial in very good condition, some aging to the outer track. The present lot contains endangered species which is subject to restrictions upon international export. Accordingly, the strap for this item will be removed prior to shipment outside the United States.

Ref. 2483 was made from 1950 until approximately 1955. It is particularly attractive to collectors for its substantial case, featuring a relatively wide bezel and lugs, and a screw-down case back. According to our research, the present lot is one of only ten first-series examples in yellow gold with subsidiary seconds to come to auction.
