- en émail peint bleu, blanc, rouge, vert sur fond noir, à rehauts d'or
- Haut. 7,5 et 8 cm; height 2 5/8 and 3 in.
pour la grande salière, le saleron supérieur orné d'un guerrier casqué, entouré de portraits masculins et féminins, rehaussés de rinceaux d'or; la deuxième salière, plus petite, ornée de scènes mythologiques

Condition
- The big salt cellar with the Labours of Hercules very finely painted and in very good condition overall. A few minor lacks to the corners and some repaints to the lower edges.
- The smaller salt cellar with losses at several places, in particular to the lower edges and to the sides

Catalogue Note
Traditionnellement attribuées à l'atelier de Colin Nouailher, plusieures salières de ce même type sont conservées dans des collections publiques, comme celle du Petit Palais (V. Notin,op.cit.n°2). Celles du musée du Louvre ornées des Travaux d'Hercule ont été attribuées à Pierre Reymond (MR R155); la salière à fond bleue de la Walters Art Gallery de Baltimore, orné de scènes similaires à la nôtre, a été datée par Verdier vers 1535 et fut considérée comme une oeuvre de Léonard Limousin (inv.44.362).
