Designed as a textured gold bird, the torso set with a cabochon pink tourmaline measuring approximately 21.0 by 17.0 mm, the tail decorated with carved mother-of-pearl, accented by round diamonds weighing approximately 3.00 carats, signed Sterlé Paris, numbered 7.308 ,with French assay and maker's marks; circa 1965.

Condition

In good condition. The pink tourmaline is a medium slightly orangy pink and heavily included, with surface-reaching inclusions and abrasions at the facet junctions. The carved mother-of-pearl exhibits subtle orient and sheen. The diamonds are approximately G-H color, predominantly VS clarity. The head of the bird is articulated and the brooch bears a nice overall heft. Length approximately 4 1/8 inches.
