Condition

Overall in very good condition. The wood surfaces present with a warm brown color that is richer than in the catalogue illustration and that contrasts beautifully with the parchment top. The wooden surface with minor surface scratches, a few minor abrasions and minor surface dirt consistent with age and gentle use. The proper left upper edge of the main top with an old restoration. The edges of the upper top with evidences of prior restoration, only visible upon close inspection. The patinated bronze surfaces with minor surface scratches and rubbing to the patina consistent with age and gentle use. The sabot with expected wear and minor abrasions. The parchment top has been replaced at some point in the history of the piece and is in very good condition with a few minor surface scratches, minor abrasions and a few minor discolorations consistent with age and gentle use. The interior of the drawers with minor surface staining consistent with use. With three keys, likely original. An extremely refined and harmoniously balanced design by Jean-Michel Frank, with unique provenance. -----
