Condition

Overall in very good condition. When viewed in person, the alabaster elements appear with highly detailed veining throughout. The alabaster appears later, with each of the alabaster elements with minor surface abrasions, minor surface scratches and minor burning discoloration consistent with age and gentle use. The four alabaster shades are a well matched set showing consistent coloration and veining. The shades with evidence of a few prior restorations, notably to the interior hole, only visible upon close inspection. When viewed with illumination, the alabaster would present with a slightly more yellow hue. The metal mounts with some occasional minor surface scratches, light rubbing, surface soiling, minor irregularities and traces of oxidation consistent with age and gentle use. The mounts have been pierced with two additional holes to the back plate, to attach the sconce to the wall. The sconces are not fitted with electrical sockets. A very nice example of this iconic design, elegantly combining alabaster and metal. -----
