Overall in excellent original condition showing very gentle use. This set of chairs is part of a larger collection acquired as part of a long relationship with George Nakashima. Five other works from the collection of Dorothy G. Roby appear in this auction catalogue. The current condition of these chairs shows the acute attention and care of the owners. Each of the chairs is executed with a single board seat. The seats each display wonderful continuous figuring that adds significant depth to these examples of the model. The chairs presents with a few very minute and shallow surface scratches, a few minor light discolorations, a few very minute edge nicks consistent with gentle use. A rare opportunity to acquire large original set of “Conoid” chairs with single board seats.
