Overall in excellent original condition showing very gentle use. This coffee table is part of a larger collection acquired as part of a long relationship with George Nakashima. Five works from the collection of Dorothy G. Roby appear in this auction catalogue. The current condition of this table shows the acute attention and care of the owners. The wood selection used to execute this work presents with extraordinary figuring and deeply saturated hues throughout. The table of this table with an extremely thick top, likely a special request, as it is extremely rare. The top and edges with a few very minor shallow surface scratches and minute edge nicks consistent with use. The top retains the original fissures and natural characteristics of the wood. -----
