Condition

Overall in very good original condition. This work retains a significant amount of the original coloration to the decorative scheme of the front doors, making this a very good example of the designer’s work. The case with light surface scratches, edge nicks and minor scattered losses to the finish along the edges of the metal panels comprising the decorative exterior of the case, consistent with age and sensitive use. The interior is fitted with a single shelf to both the proper right and proper left compartments and with a single removable shelf below covered with leatherette. The interior of the work is painted with a dark yellow lacquer which the designer called “antiquing”. The reverse with holes to the wooden back panel to secure the work to the wall. We would recommend fastening the case to the wall, as the front doors are quite heavy. A very strong example of the motif displaying rich coloration in the brilliant red, blues and yellows to the exterior. -----
