Condition

Overall in good condition. When viewed in person, the wood displays with a rich amber color with delicate nuances to the veneer, that contrasts beautifully with the lighter sycamore interior. When closed, the dressing table displays a richly figured top with harmonious and painterly veneer details. The top is slightly uneven as expected with age. The wooden surfaces have been sensitively refinished and present with minor surface scratches, minor abrasions and light surface soiling consistent with age and gentle use. The veneer with some minor evidences of drying to the wood consistent with natural ageing of the material. The top with a few minor abrasions and old restoration only visible upon close inspection. The legs with some sensitively undertaken restorations to the veneer, not at all visually distracting. The interior is in very good condition, with a few scattered minor stains and discolorations. The mirror is probably replaced and presents with minor surface scratches and light surface dirt consistent with age and gentle use. With a key. A superb work by Jean-Michel Frank combining beautiful execution and harmonious proportions. -----
