A SMALL CARVED 'YAOZHOU' SAUCER DISH NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY

with shallow rounded sides rising from a recessed base, encircled on the exterior by a single incised line, the flat interior deftly carved and combed to the center with turbulent waves, and covered overall with an attractive olive-green glaze suffused with fine crackle, stopping neatly in a circle around the base exposing the grayish-brown body, Japanese wood box (3)

Purchased in Tokyo, 1986. 

There is a 1 cm faint glaze line to the interior rim. Otherwise, the dish is in overall good condition, except for expected surface wear and minor firing imperfections.
