  • Zitan wood
of upright rectangular form surmounted with a humpback-form handle, the plain exterior mitered and hidden-dovetailed together and reinforced by ruyi-form baitong mounts to the corners, the removable front of mitered frame and floating panel construction with a baitong foliate-form escutcheon plate, the interior with an asymmetric arrangement of six drawers with further foliate baitong backplates and pulls (8)

Condition

There has been some shrinkage and restoration to the front pane.. There is a long vertical split down one of the sides. The back panel is not zitan and appears to be a later replacement. There has been a patch repair to the back corner of one of the drawers. There is shrinkage to some of the drawer bases and some restoration and replacement of some of the runners. The mounts have been replaced.
