Description

  • porcelain
heavily potted with rounded sides rising from a pointed base to an everted rim, all supported on a spreading foot, the interior decorated with a pair of anhua cranes in flight below two characters reading fu (happiness) and lu (prosperity) respectively, their wings outstretched with finely detailed plumage, divided by ruyi-shaped cloud scrolls, all below a classic scroll band, the exterior incised with a foliate scroll at the rim and broad lotus lappets at the foot, covered overall in an opaque white glaze with a slight tinge of blue

Condition

This rare bowl has a slight warp to the rim and over painting to a circa 9 x 25cm., crescent-shaped section of the rim on the exterior and to circa 9 x 38cm., on the interior.
