Description

  • jade
skilfully pierced and carved in elaborate openwork, the circular border picked out with prunus blossoms and extending flowering stems across the roundel, with a long-tailed bird, possibly a magpie, nestled in between the branches, the stone of an even white colour

Christie's Hong Kong, 29th November 2005, lot 1573.

Condition

The plaque is in overall good condition with small nicks to the fragile extremities, the largest measuring approx. 0.5 cm to the branch at the top of the front side. The catalogue illustration is a tinge brighter than the actual colour of the stone.
