Catalogue Note
Arnaldo Pomodoro is an Italian sculptor, primarily focused on the transformation of space through sculpture. He is particularly known for creating spherical sculptures, such as "Sphere Within Sphere" (Sfera con Sfera), which can be seen at the Vatican Museums, Rome. Other examples of his work are housed at the United Nations Headquarters, University of California, Berkeley and Tel Aviv University, Israel.
In 1999, he founded Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro in Milan. Originally created as an archive for Pomodoro's work, the space evolved to showcase works by fellow Italian artists, such as Fontana and Kounellis.
