觀鷺園收藏乃北美最重要的中國書畫收藏之一，其主體乃圍繞周亮工《讀畫錄》內所載藝術家，并致力於建立一個以十七、十八世紀明清之交藝術家作品為核心的書畫收藏。觀鷺園收藏中的諸多作品曾在北美各大博物館，例如紐約大都會藝術博物館、紐約亞洲協會等展出，并多次在北美及歐洲出版。觀鷺園主人夫婦雖不諳漢語，但對中國文化，尤其是明末清初的文人際遇情有獨鍾；先生曾任紐約華美協進社理事及佛吉尼亞州藝術博物館董事會主席，一生致力於在北美推廣中國書畫藝術。此次442號王鑑册頁、495號石濤册頁及502號龔賢手卷均來自觀鷺園珍藏。
