Description

  • painted enamel
the deep rounded sides rising from a short foot to a wide everted rim, painted to the interior with floral medallion surrounded by radiating florets and tassels extending to interlocking ruyi scrolls, the flat rim with shou character roundels between kui dragons writhing amongst floral sprays, similarly decorated to the exterior, the base with a four-character seal mark reading Da Qing nian zhi (Made in the Great Qing dynasty)

Condition

The basin is restored with extensive overpaint particularly visible along the everted rim. There are some crazing/hairline cracks (with associated losses) and minor bubbling to the enamels throughout. There are small chips to the underside of the everted rim.
