First edition. A privately-printed edition of a story that had first appeared in The Germ in 1850; acording to Wise, the print run was 100 copies.
This copy was sent by William Michael Rossetti to an admirer of his family, Louisa Summerbell. Bound in are five interesting ALS (17 pp.) from W. M. R., written between 1896 and 1906, in which he discusses at length both Dante Gabriel and Christina.
