Catalogue Note
Delavigne's Messénienne sur Lord Byron is bound up in a remarkable sämmelband assembled by the famous Bryon and Shelley forger Major Byron ("Geo. Gordon Byron"), whose signature is on the titles of several pamphlets. The volume includes seven pamphlets and a fragment, "Reminiscences of Lord Byron" from Leicester Stanhope's Greece in 1823 and 1824. The other pamphlets include Lamartine's Le Dernier chant du pélerinage d'Harold (1825), Lockhart's Letter to the Right Hon. Lord Byron. By John Bull (1821), and Louvet's Byron et la liberté (1824).
