Catalogue Note
The voyage of the Herald included exploration of the west coast of America and Alaska, as well as involvement in three attempts in the search for Sir John Franklin from the north Pacific.
Issued in parts, this work includes the flora of Hong Kong, north western Mexico, the isthmus of Panama, and "Western Eskimaux-Land". It appears to be rare, with the last copy recorded at auction being sold in 1982. See footnote to lot 712.
