1-2) watercolour and gouache banner, 128 by 475mm., signed with initials lower right, together with tracing paper copy in outline; 3-5) three leaves of titles (including pieces for a later edition); 6-7) two leaves of sub-titles (featuring Alice and other characters); 8-9) two leaves of endpaper illustrations; 10-14) five leaves of decorated borders; 15-40) twenty-six leaves of drawings of characters; various sizes, mostly ink drawings, mostly signed with initials, some browning, occasional tears and soiling, occasional creases, some corrections in gouache, occasional publisher’s markings in blue (40)

The banner is apparently unpublished. It is likely that it was intended as an endpaper illustration (cf Broadwood's settings of English Nursery Rhymes, see lot 263).
