Condition
The sheet has discoloured with some faint signs of foxing spots; otherwise appears generally sound.
Held under glass in a wood frame with a cream and beige mount; unexamined out of frame.

Catalogue Note
To be sold with a letter from the artist to Lord Crewe dated 5th July 1907 which discusses the present portrait commission: 'It will give me much pleasure to make the drawing, and if you can spare time to sit in my studio, it will suit me well, as I am used to the light.'
