  • ivory & tortoiseshell
la première dague à poignée en nacre et écaille, la garde en forme de coquille, avec son fourreau en cuir fauve, la seconde, la poignée en ivoire teinté vert, la prise en tête de lion, dans son fourreau en cuir noir, la dernière à décor de chardons, un couteau et une fourchette glissés dans le fourreau, les poignées serties de cabochons de verre jaune

the first dagger with mother-of-pearl and tortoise handle, shell thumbpiece, with brown leather scabbard, the second one with green tainted ivory spirally fluted handle, lion head finial, with scabbard, the last one with horn handle chased with thistle motives, a fork and a knife on scabbard, each handle with yellow glass motives

Condition

The one with wood and yellow glass in overall good condition. The case with some leather lacks. Very decorative. The one with green tainted ivory in overall good condition, the leather case slightly worn, the handle and case mounts fully marked. The blade engraved De la Fabrique de la Marque De l'Arbre Du Vie a Sohlingen (twice), the blade engraved also with deer hunting scenes. The last one with mother-of-pearl handle in overall goiod condition, the case mount stamped, the shell on blade handle stamped with discharge, the handle with discharge and jurande. The blade engraved with deer and boar in medallions. Some stain spots. One small restoration and one small lack on mother-of-pearl. Very nice piece.
