Condition

Very good condition overall with minor wear to the patina consistent with age and handling and some minor surface dirt to the crevices.

Catalogue Note

Le modèle original de ce bronze, aujourd'hui disparu, fut réalisé par Giambologna en cire, probablement dans les années 1555 à 1561. Un petit bronze du même sujet est conservé à Florence (Museo Nazionale, Bargello).
